Shay & Alin’s Intimate Destination Wedding in Mexico was filled with emotional moments and positive energy. Their Rocky Point Resort Wedding meant they were really able to prioritize a laidback celebration with family & friends.

When Shay & Alin began planning their wedding, they knew they didn’t want to have a huge guest list… but they did want to party with their most loved humans! So, they decided to plan an Intimate Destination Wedding in Mexico. That way, they could have a relaxed wedding day, with time to talk to each of their guests and to celebrate with each other. It was such a beautiful day, with so many emotional moments from their first look to Alin reuniting with his Mom, who flew all the way from Romania. Keep reading to find out more about their Rocky Point Resort Wedding (and for some tips for organizing your very own destination wedding in Mexico).

ROCKY POINT RESORT WEDDING

Intimate Destination Wedding in Mexico

There are so many benefits to having a destination wedding. For Shay & Alin, one of the most obvious was that it was an easy way to narrow down their guest list. They wanted a laidback celebration, where they’d have time to spend with all of their loved ones. While Mexico isn’t too far away, they knew that the people they love most would be super excited to make the trip. It also meant they’d have more time with everyone. Instead of having a larger guest list and only a few hours together at the reception, they were able to party and vacation together. This is also why they chose to have a Rocky Point Resort Wedding – it was the perfect place for everyone to stay together and soak up the Mexican sun!

If you’re not super excited about planning a big party, but just want to enjoy the party itself, a destination resort wedding could be just the trick! Shay & Alin left most of the wedding planning up to the venue, the beautiful Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort. Because they didn’t need to worry about details, they were able to have the laidback, Intimate Destination Wedding in Mexico that they dreamed of. There was plenty of time to celebrate with loved ones, and of course, with each other!

Shay & Alin decided to have a first look before their ceremony. They read their vows to one another in private and it was the perfect moment, with both of them having the space to really let the emotions of it all sink in. We also had plenty of time to take epic wedding portraits along the beach, because we weren’t worried about travelling from one place to the next.

Hiring a Photographer for your Resort Destination Wedding in Mexico

If you’re planning a Resort Destination Wedding in Mexico, there are a few things to consider when booking your photographer. Resort Weddings tend to be well organized, so it’s not so important that your photographer speak the language or know the area. Generally speaking, we’ll arrive a day or two before so that we can scout everything out!

When it comes to visas, your photographer should be able to enter on a tourist visa (provided you’re a US citizen and don’t plan to use the invoice to ask for tax credit in Mexico). You just need to make sure they have a passport!

Finally, make sure you get along with your photographer! This might sound like strange advice, but you’ll likely spend more time with your photographer than anybody else on your wedding day. This goes for all weddings, really, but it’s even more important if you’re planning a Resort Destination Wedding because your photographer might be staying in the resort with you or very close by!

If you’re planning an Intimate Destination Wedding in Mexico, I’d love to help you photograph it to look back on for life! Get in touch now to see if we’re a good fit.
