The weddings I get to photograph in the Arizona desert never fail to dazzle me with their natural and effortless beauty - and Laura and Tim’s wedding day at The Paseo was no exception! From the stunning event space and mountain scenery to the perfect details and decor, photographing this wedding was so much fun! A Dazzling Desert Wedding Near Phoenix, Arizona

Laura and Tim: A Match Made in Phoenix

Laura and Tim are truly made for each other! These two met while volunteering at a community health center in Phoenix, AZ - Laura was in medical school and Tim was preparing to begin the same journey! They had no idea in those early days what their casual interactions at the clinic would lead to. But when small talk and realized shared interests led to a first date of swing dancing, there was no question it was meant to be! They dated throughout medical school and the beginnings of internships and residency - what they describe as some of the toughest years for any aspiring MD. But through it all their relationship was steady and grounding, and their commitment to each other never wavered. Tim proposed in early 2021, and from there they began to plan their dream wedding day!

The Paseo

Located just outside of Phoenix, Arizona, The Paseo is truly one of the most beautiful wedding event spaces I’ve ever photographed! The venue itself showcases high ceilings with natural wood beams and floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows that give the most stunning view of the ceremony lawn. The interior/exterior aspect of this space allows for a seamless transition from the ceremony, to happy hour, to reception. Set against the backdrop of the gorgeous desert landscape of Arizona’s Superstition Mountains, it is literally impossible to not capture completely breathtaking photos at the Paseo!

Delightful Details and Meaningful Moments

Laura and Tim incorporated so many delightful details into their Arizona desert wedding day. Before the ceremony, Laura and Tim had a first touch, standing back to back and reading personal notes to each other. This transitioned into such a meaningful first look where the two exchanged gifts. The decor they chose for their desert wedding was above and beyond – vibrant and perfectly complimenting the natural landscape. I am not exaggerating, the florals and tablescapes were absolutely some of the most beautiful I have ever seen – please see the photos! The incredible florists at J Barry Designs truly outdid themselves!

For their wedding cake, Laura and Tim had special figurines made of their beloved dogs since they couldn’t join them for the big day. Fun fact: a few weeks later we did a post-wedding shoot so Laura and Tim could get some snaps with these adorable pups! Before the after-dinner dance party, Laura and Tim’s bridal party surprised them with a choreographed dance. Laura grew up doing ballet with a few of her bridesmaids, and as Laura and Tim’s first date was swing dancing this moment was extra special!

Tim and Laura are truly two of the kindest and most generous people I’ve worked with, and their joy throughout the entire day was so beautiful to experience. It was so wonderful to photograph their Arizona desert wedding at The Paseo and celebrate with them!
