Watson Lake // Prescott, Arizona // Couple Session // Mikaela & Evan

One thing Prescott is known for, truly known for that is, are The Dells. If you don’t know what I am talking about, well, then you’re missing out. The Granite Dells are an incredible expanse of gorgeous granite rock formations, with a couple of picturesque lakes thrown in the middle. It is a photographer’s dream.

Mikaela and Evan are a couple of cuties living in Prescott, for now. Evan is attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, while Mikaela is spending time with her boo before her next big move. They have done long distance before, and will have to do it again.  As a result, they know how to appreciate one another when they can, which really shows when you are around them.  

These sweet and fun individuals were excited and willing to try anything that day. Like many of my couples, they have been together for years but this was their first time having couple photos taken! Friendly reminder that you do NOT have to be engaged to have photos taken. Every love is worth capturing, even without a ring.

Shooting at The Granite Dells allows me to get a bunch of different angles and lighting. It’s also a great place for different settings.  You can find grassy hills, tons of rocks, or climb down to the water. Fair warning, if you shoot there with me I will make you climb around a little. In my opinion, rocks are meant to be climbed on!

My favorite part of this session was when I asked if there was anything they personally wanted.  They suggested some delightful two-step moves. Evan even picked Mikaela up and swung her around effortlessly! Such a fun thing to photograph. Never be shy about asking me or any other photographer to do something unique to or for you. Remember: I don’t know about your special little things unless you let me know!
