Belize Boudoir
It’s not every day you get to take Beach Portraits in Belize, so I was sure to make the most of this amazing Belize Boudoir Photography session in collaboration with Zhayva Sarai.
If you’ve ever had the joy of travelling overseas, I’m sure you know that magical feeling of arriving on new streets, tired from the trip, but so excited to explore a new place. For most of you, a big part of that excitement is probably a chance to take time off work. For us photographers though, it’s usually the exact opposite – we can’t wait to pull out our cameras, finding joy in capturing all the beautiful new details and vistas around us.
Before I even arrived in Belize last year though, I knew I wanted to do more than just your usual travel photos. And so, I reached out to Zayvha and Chantel, to set up a very special Belize Beach Portraits and Boudoir session.

Beach Portraits in Belize
Let me start by saying, Belize is a truly spectacular country. Located on the North East coast of Central America, Belize has beautiful tropical beaches and an incredibly rich history. Whether you want to laze on the beach sipping cocktails or do the opposite, spending your days adventuring, I’d highly recommend it! We stayed at Caye Caulker, a small island off the coast of Belize, which felt a lot like a tropical paradise. Plus, it made for the most stunning backdrop for our Belize Beach Portraits. We started the shoot on the eastern side of the island, making the most of the soft evening light, before running over to the Iguana Reef Inn, on the other side of the island, to catch the sunset.
Belize Boudoir Photography
Working with two local women for our Belize Boudoir Photography is an experience I’ll always hold dear. Zayvha Sarai is a bridal designer local to Belize, creating custom bridalwear and gowns. Not only did she supply the most amazing swimwear and handmade veil for our bridal-themed boudoir shoot, but she went above and beyond to make it happen. She caught a bus and a boat to meet us on the island where we were staying, and she even finished sewing the three pieces on the bus ride to us! The pieces fit Chantel, a local model, beautifully, and she was an absolute joy to work with. She made the most of the soft evening breeze and the beautiful movement of Zayvha’s creations.
Alternative Boudoir Photo Ideas
Styled shoots like these are a wonderful way for us photographers to play, to have fun, and to try something new. More than that though, I see them as a way to show you what you could do! Yes, you! I’m a huge advocate for boudoir photos – they’re empowering, fun and confidence-boosting. Boudoir is a chance to feel beautiful in your own skin, and it absolutely doesn’t have to be done at home or indoors. You can have a boudoir photoshoot wherever you’d like – at home, of course, in a gorgeous Airbnb, surrounded by nature, or by the seaside, just like Chantel.
