Riordan Mansion Flagstaff, AZ Halloween Harry Potter Wedding

Working as a couple photographer allows me to meet amazing people with amazing stories. Hearing love stories is a favorite part of my job. Erica and David dated in high school and had a child together. Now, 18 years later, they are married.

Surrounded by their children, close friends, and family; Erica and David said, “I do.” on a fall day. Their son, Symon, dressed in viking attire and married his parents. The ceremony began as Erica walked down the aisle to the beautiful celesta notes that most anyone would recognize: the Harry Potter theme. Dressed in black and escorted by her father to her high school sweetheart and all those she loves. Symon began speaking in Norse as the bride and groom stood before him. He progressed into the classic “Mawwiage. Mawwiage is wat bwings us togeder today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam wifin a dream… And wuv, twue wuv, will fowwow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv”. They kissed, and made official, what they have been waiting for.

The reception featured floating candles, potions, and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. The historic Riordan mansion started to feel a little bit more like Hogwarts as children ran around with wands, casting spells on one another while Erica and David shared their first dance.

As family began to leave, Erica confirmed plans for trick or treating, it was obvious how close this group was. An intimate wedding surrounded by only those near and dear. It may have been a unique wedding, featuring a black wedding dress and The One Ring, but love was still all that mattered. The love between bride and groom, the love they have for their children, the love of close friends that have become family, and the love of family that would not miss this special day.  It was not amortentia that brought these two together, but a lasting bond that began years ago. Erica and David have each other, always.
