Salt River // Mesa, Arizona // Bridal & Bridesmaid Styled Shoot

Lauren, the owner and creative behind Maide, reached out to me when she was travelling to Arizona. She is a Canada native who was eager to get her gorgeous gowns into a desert setting. It was a last minute shoot, but we were able to find some beautiful models to wear her colorful gowns. 

Maide is a company that Lauren started after years making made-to-order suits for men. She realized that there was a gap in the market for made-to-order bridesmaid dresses. Needless to say, she is very talented at whatever she chooses to do. 

Lauren picked up some flowers from AZFlorations, made some snacks and sangria, and did the ladies hair. As soon as I got there I was excited; we started shooting at her in-laws house in Mesa, Arizona… and it was amazing. The house had HUGE sliding doors that opened to the pool patio.  The weather was of course perfect, so the doors were open to let the sunshine in. At the house, we put the models on a huge staircase, where they played with the fabric of their dresses. Of course, before heading to our next location, we had to take some photos by the pool. What could be better than girls in amazing dresses lounging by some blue water?

Once the sun got a little lower, we were ready to move to a desert location for golden hour. We headed out to the Salt River to find some cacti and desert rocks. The deep colors of Lauren’s dresses perfectly complemented the greens of the landscape and the deep blue sky. 

Not only did Lauren bring a bunch of hand sewn dresses, she also brought her own wedding dress so that we could take photos of a bride with her bridesmaids! The lace dress fit one of our models like a glove and she looked incredible surrounded by the various gowns. The entire day was  magical thanks to all of the talented people who made it happen.
