Chicago, Illinois // Anniversary // Couple Session // Julie & Eric

Finding an eccentric couple to photograph on the rooftops of Chicago was a dream come true. I have been going to Chicago my entire life; my dad’s family lives right in the city. But I have never had the opportunity to have a photoshoot there. The last few times I was there, I started getting the inspirational itch to make some magic in the city. Once I get it in my head that I want to shoot somewhere, it is impossible to stop thinking about it. 

So, before I headed out to visit my grandmother I made sure to reach out to some couples I knew. Julie and Eric were the perfect people to have found. They invited me into their home for a shoot, and the thing about their home is… it’s incredible. Eric is a HUGE Kiss fan, so everywhere you look you will see Kiss guitars, posters, and figurines. Along with this you will find a very cute and fat cat, an entire wall of Star Wars merchandise, a home movie theater, and the most incredible rooftop city  view. 

It was a cold day but Julie still braved the rooftop in an amazing dress, the perfect way to warm up for the cuties’ couple session. After a quick outfit change we wandered around their street for a bit, since it is a lovely Chicago neighborhood-- everywhere you turn there’s a perfect backdrop. Yet, with a house like theirs we didn’t have to spend time outside for too long. 

As soon as we went back inside Eric was ready to be silly!  He kept throwing some Blue Steel at the camera. Eric grabbed his guitar and played for his wife.  He then started cooking a delicious dinner for her as they sipped on a glass of wine.  And of course to finish, they snuggled up on the couch and stole some kisses.
