Today I am so excited to share Noel and Vanessa’s fun-filled Adventure Engagement Portraits in Arizona on the blog!
As soon as these two gorgeous women reached out about their Adventure Engagement Portraits, I knew it would be an incredible shoot. They are both SO nice and supportive, which makes them amazing to be around. Their joy shone through throughout the portrait session and the planning, and they complemented one another perfectly. Not to mention, there was no doubt that their beautiful pup, Henry, had to come along for the ride. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I absolute adore dogs, and I love including them in photo sessions!

If you’re in Arizona, and you love the idea of lush greens for your Adventure Engagement Portraits, don’t despair! While it can seem like Arizona is just made up of arid desert, I know the perfect little secret spot for you. Hidden in the Granite Dells near Watson Lake, this little spot is so green you’ll hardly know you’re in Arizona! Plus, it’s close enough to Watson Lake that we can still get those famous photos of Arizona’s wide-open spaces if you’d like a mix of both.
Adventure Engagement Portraits in Arizona
There is no doubt that Arizona is home to some incredible locations for Adventure Engagement Portraits. From the red rocky outcrops of Sedona to the Scottsdale Desert and more. Regardless of the location you choose though, I always recommend finding a spot with a little bit of variation. The secret spot we used for Vanessa & Noel’s Watson Lake Photography was perfect for this. Even if it’s a tiny spot, it’s got rocks to climb on, a bridge, and of course, all the greenery. The tall grassy areas make for especially beautiful portraits in the summertime, when there’s also water that you can wade through or play in.
Making the Most of Your Adventure Engagement Portraits
Adventure Engagement Portraits are an amazing opportunity to break up your daily routine and to explore the beautiful nature Arizona has to offer. Of course, everyone has a different style, so it’s important to make sure you choose the right style of shoot for you. If you want to get dressed up in a ball gown for your engagement shoot, then absolutely let’s do it! But perhaps, in that case, a less wild location would work better. If you are sure you want your Engagement Portraits to be Adventurous, then count me in!
To make the most of your Adventure Engagement Portraits, it’s best to wear clothes that you’re happy to get a little dirty or wet, and that you’re comfortable to move in. That way you’ll be free to get into the adventurous spirit and explore your chosen location. Most importantly, you’ll be ready to have so much fun celebrating your love, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
