Mount Humphreys // Flagstaff, AZ Engagement Session // Sidney & Sam

CoArizona snowbowl mount humphreys flagstaff arizona engagement photos

Sidney, Sam, and I all went to the same high school, but never knew each other. I had mutual friends with Sidney’s twin sister, but didn’t meet her until a few years after high school. I was so excited when they contacted me about doing their engagement photos! I love my hometown and I love people from my hometown. Even better? They wanted to get some fall photos in my favorite location, Snowbowl!

They were nervous about their shoot, they had never had photos taken before. I reassured them that they had nothing to worry about. All they had to do was show up and be their adorable selves and I would do the rest. It turned out perfectly. It was a little chilly on the mountain, but we got gorgeous shots with the fallen leaves amongst the aspens.

Sidney and Sam are one of those couples that you can see belong together. Sidney is sweet and quiet while Sam is playful and looks at her like she makes his world turn. When I asked them to do something silly or playful, Sam was excited and Sidney was willing but a little unsure. She said, “I can’t wait to see how these look”. It made my day when I sent her the gallery and she said “now I see what you did!”, all of my silly requests create genuine reactions between my couples. I just want to make you smile.

Sidney and Sam brought 2 outfits, one casual and one more elegant. This is always a good idea! It makes it almost as if you had 2 shoots in one! We are able to get two completely different moods out of one session.

When it started to get dark and we were finishing up I asked if there was anything else they wanted to do, Sam asked if he could climb a tree. I am not one to deny my clients at least trying a photo idea. I was very impressed when he climbed up a tree way higher than I had in mind (I wish I had taken a video of it). Sidney stood below watching her free-spirited man climb a tree and said that he does this all the time.

Sidney and Sam are enjoying their engagement. They plan on getting married at their own house in Prescott sometime in the future. They are a sweet couple and I know they will have a life full of adventure and love.
