If you ever need proof that there’s no need to be worried about a little rain on your wedding day, then Skyris & Michael’s Rainy-Day Wedding in Prescott is the wedding blog for you.

When planning your wedding, you’ll no doubt stumble upon well-meaning articles that tell you to prepare for everything – especially if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony or reception. Skyris & Michael weren’t worried at all about the possibility of rain though, despite the fact that they were getting married during monsoon season in Arizona. Let’s just say, their rain-soaked reception made for a truly unforgettable night and one seriously epic party.

Skyris & Michael: How to Have Fun at Your Wedding

There’s no doubt about it, wedding planning can be stressful – especially when you begin looking at blogs, Pinterest, and all the rest. There is so much pressure to do this, that, or the other thing. But when it comes down to it, your wedding is really about the two of you and the love that you share. If you love to party, if you’re not a big ‘planner’, if you don’t care about certain things, then you should stay true to that!

For Skyris & Michael, this meant they knew they wanted to have an epic party – and that they weren’t going to worry about the rain.

Rainy-Day Wedding in Prescott

Monsoon season in Prescott means one thing is for sure – when it rains, it pours. Skyris & Michael were married at the Grand Highland Hotel, in Prescott, which is a seriously gorgeous venue. They have the most amazing outdoor space, and it’s there that they planned their epic wedding reception, with no back-ups in case the weather went awry.

When the skies opened up though, instead of running for cover, Skyris, Michael and their guests welcomed it with open arms. They danced all night long and had the most amazing time. There is just something about the freedom of dancing in the rain that made it feel like magic, or a scene from a movie! The bottles and bottles of champagne that they kept spraying at their guests and each other definitely added to the atmosphere as well.

Planning a Wedding: Embrace the Day

If you’re planning a wedding, it’s okay to be nervous about the weather or any other things that might ‘go wrong’ on your wedding day. Your wedding is an important day, and it’s totally normal that you want it to be everything you have hoped for. I think the lesson to be taken away from Skyris & Michael’s wedding though, is that when the day arrives, take a step back from everything you’d hoped the day would be, and embrace the day as it is. Love on your new husband or wife, celebrate with your favorite people and soak up every delicious minute of this day that is all about the two of you. You never know, just like Skyris & Michael’s Rainy-Day Wedding in Prescott, the things that go ‘wrong’, might even be some of the best parts of your day!
